Beauty and Idiocy

There are so many beautiful places in the world, so much beauty. And yet, with all the technology we have we still push for more. We consume until it destroys the place we live, and instead of trying to correct our mistakes we just push to the next location to destroy that. Its a never ending cycle of destruction of beauty. You would think we would’ve learned but every year beautiful idyllic places are being destroyed for the sake of consumerism or even tourism.

Yes we should want to see these beautiful places, but shouldn’t we want to see  them for the beauty they are, instead of the beauty we can make of it?  We’ve this before haven’t we? At the start of the Industrial Revolution, we were so consumed by the idea of the steam engine that we single-handedly destroyed the Thames river, and other such places in London.
